DPIIT Startup India Eligibility Checker

Startup India / DPIIT Recognition — Criteria

DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) recognition under the Startup India initiative provides startups access to Section 80-IAC tax exemption (3 of 10 years), Section 56(2)(viib) angel-tax exemption (legacy years), self-certification under labour laws, intellectual property fast-track, and access to Fund of Funds for Startups.

Eligibility: incorporated as Pvt Ltd, LLP, or Registered Partnership Firm; incorporated less than 10 years ago; turnover not exceeding ₹100 crore in any of the financial years since incorporation; engaged in innovation, development, or improvement of products / processes / services, OR a scalable business model with high potential for employment generation or wealth creation; not formed by splitting up or reconstruction of an existing business.

Application: online via Startup India portal with founder credentials, business model summary, innovation declaration, and supporting documents. Recognition certificate is issued within 7-15 working days of complete application.
