Check if your proposed company name follows MCA naming guidelines under Rule 8 of Companies (Incorporation) Rules, 2014. This tool validates name structure, flags common rejection reasons, and suggests improvements.
Company name reservation under SPICe+ Part A is governed by the Companies (Incorporation) Rules 2014 and the Trade Marks Act 1999. Two names can be proposed per application; ROC examines for uniqueness, regulatory compliance, and trademark conflicts.
Common rejection grounds: name identical or too similar to existing company / LLP names; name in conflict with registered trademarks; restricted words requiring central government approval (Bharat, National, Hindustan, Republic, Indian, etc.); names suggesting government / state association without authority; names incorporating prohibited words under MCA's Master Directions.
Suffixes are mandatory: "Private Limited" / "Limited" / "OPC Private Limited" / "LLP" / "Section 8" — the suffix must match the proposed structure.
This name checker runs preliminary searches across MCA21 and Trade Marks Registry. For full reservation including SPICe+ Part A submission, RUN application, or NCLT petition for restoration of struck-off names, consult CA V. Viswanathan at +91 99622 60333.
